1967. He was soon moved up to the trading desk and became an assistant
trader. |

Bissell & Meeds, a regional New York Stock Exchange member firm,
hired John to be a trader. |

became Vice President of Trading for Mahler & Emerson, Inc. It was

firm and made more money than the firm had made in the previous five
years. |
|
In 1981, he became
Vice President of Trading for James J. Duane & Co., Inc., a regional
OTC underwriting firm. There John traded in undervalued stock, special

started John E. Lux. |
| Security
Analysis |
John Lux' style of
stock trading can be described as a modified Graham and Dodd style. |
|
Graham and Dodd
bought stocks at rock bottom prices based on working capital, book value
and cash per share. |
|
John Lux screens
for such undervalued stocks and then selects out the ones most likely to
appreciate. |
|
In this small
group, John digs deep and finds out everything about the company in
question. |
|
John draws on his
legal, statistical, investment banking and management background to make
his analysis. |
