Stock Trading

John started charting stocks in 1957 when he was 11 years old.
John started trading in 1966, when he was still a minor.
He started as an assistant on the trading department at E. F. Hutton & Co., Inc. in 1967. He was soon moved up to the trading desk and became an assistant trader.
In 1968, Laird, Bissell & Meeds, a regional New York Stock Exchange member firm, hired John to be a trader.
In 1979, John became Vice President of Trading for Mahler & Emerson, Inc. It was there John perfected his "Home Run Stock" concepts. In his first three months, he reversed the previous heavy trading losses of the firm and made more money than the firm had made in the previous five years.
In 1981, he became Vice President of Trading for James J. Duane & Co., Inc., a regional OTC underwriting firm. There John traded in undervalued stock, special situations and IPOs. He achieved 300% returns in his trading and customer accounts
In 1985, John started John E. Lux.
Security Analysis John Lux' style of stock trading can be described as a modified Graham and Dodd style.
Graham and Dodd bought stocks at rock bottom prices based on working capital, book value and cash per share.
John Lux screens for such undervalued stocks and then selects out the ones most likely to appreciate.
In this small group, John digs deep and finds out everything about the company in question.
John draws on his legal, statistical, investment banking and management background to make his analysis.
